THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Revelation Chapter 6

¶ And I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying, with a voice like the sound of thunder, Come and see.

And I looked, and saw a white horse: and its rider had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

¶ And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, Come and see.

And there went out another horse that was red: and its rider was given power to take peace from the earth, that they should kill one another: and a great sword was given to him.

And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, Come and see. And I looked, and saw a black horse; and its rider had a pair of balances in his hand.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures say, A measure of wheat for a day’s pay, and three measures of barley for a day’s pay; and do not damage the oil and wine.

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, Come and see.

And I looked, and saw a pale horse: and the name of its rider was Death, and Hell followed close behind. And they were given power over a fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with pestilence, and with the beasts of the earth.

¶ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who were slain for the word of God, and for their testimony:

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, will you not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?

And white robes were given to each of them; and they were told, that they should wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brethren, who were to be killed as they were, was complete.

And I watched as he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun grew black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood;

And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, even as a fig tree drops its winter figs, when it is shaken by a strong wind.

And the sky departed like a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the rich men, and the commanders, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath has come; and who will be able to stand?
