THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Revelation Chapter 4

¶ After this I looked, and saw a door opened in heaven: and the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet; said, Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

And he who sat was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance: and there was a rainbow around the throne, that was like an emerald in appearance.

And around the throne were twenty-four seats: and on the seats I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

And out of the throne came flashes of lightning and peals of thunder and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

And before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass clear as crystal: and in the center, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.

And the first living creature resembled a lion, the second resembled a calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth resembled an eagle in flight.

¶ And each of the four living creatures had six wings; and they were full of eyes within: and day and night, they never stop saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.

And when those living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne, who lives for ever and ever,

The four and twenty elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, and by your will they were created and exist.
