THE BOOK OF PSALMS

Psalms 23-25

A Psalm of David.

1 ¶ The LORD is my shepherd; I will not lack.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.

3 He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 24

A Psalm of David.

1 ¶ The earth is the LORD’S, and everything in it; the world, and those who live on it.

2 For he has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

3 ¶ Who will ascend to the hill of the LORD? or who will stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not set his mind on what is false, or sworn deceitfully.

5 He will receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 This is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Selah.

7 ¶ Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory will come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O you gates; even lift them up, you everlasting doors; and the King of glory will come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Psalm 25

A Psalm of David.

1 ¶ I lift my soul up to you, O LORD.

2 O my God, I trust in you: do not let me be put to shame, do not let my enemies triumph over me.

3 Yea, let none who wait on you be put to shame: let those who persecute without cause be put to shame.

4 Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths.

5 Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are the God of my salvation; I look continually to you for help.

6 Remember, O LORD, your tender mercies and your acts of loving kindness; for they have existed from eternity.

7 Do not remember the sins of my youth, or my transgressions: according to your mercy remember me for your goodness’ sake, O LORD.

8 ¶ The LORD is good and upright: therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.

9 he will guide the meek in what is right: and he will teach the humble his way.

10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For your name’s sake, O LORD, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

12 What man is he who fears the LORD? he will instruct him in the way that he will choose.

13 His soul will dwell at ease; and his seed will inherit the earth.

14 The secret of the LORD is with those who fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

15 ¶ My eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn to me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are multiplied: O bring me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon my affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: do not let me be ashamed; for I put my trust in you.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on you.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
