THE BOOK OF EXODUS

Exodus Chapter 29

¶ And this is what you should do to consecrate them, to serve me as priests: Take one young bull, and two rams without blemish,

And unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers covered with oil: you shall make them of wheat flour.

And you shall put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bull and the two rams.

And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall wash them with water.

And you shall take the garments, and put them on Aaron, the tunic, the robe that goes with the apron, the apron itself, and the breastplate, and gird him with the skillfully woven band of the apron:

And you shall put the turban on his head, and put the holy diadem on the turban.

Then shall you take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head, and anoint him.

And you shall bring his sons, and put coats on them.

And you shall gird them with sashes, Aaron and his sons, and place the caps on them: and the priest’s office shall be theirs by a perpetual statute: and you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.

Then have a bull brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull.

And you shall kill the bull before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

And you shall take some of the blood of the bull, and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour all the blood beside the base of the altar.

And you shall take all the fat that covers the intestines, and the lobe that is on the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.

But you shall burn the flesh of the bull, his skin, and his dung, with fire outside the camp: it is a sin offering.

You shall also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.

And you shall kill the ram, and take its blood, and sprinkle it all around on the altar.

And you shall cut the ram in pieces, and wash its intestines, and its legs, and put them with the other pieces, and its head.

And you shall burn the whole ram on the altar: it is a burnt offering to the LORD: it is a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.

And you shall take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.

Then you shall kill the ram, and take its blood, and put it on the tip of Aaron’s right ear, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar.

Then you shall take part of the blood that is on the altar, and part of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on their garments: and he and his garments, and his sons and their garments shall be holy.

You shall also take the fat of the ram, the fat tail, the fat that covers the intestines, and the lobe on the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of consecration:

And take one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the LORD:

And you shall put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons; and they shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.

Then you shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar for a burnt offering, as a sweet odor before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD.

And you shall take the breast of the ram for Aaron’s consecration, and wave it as a wave offering before the LORD: and it shall be your share.

Then sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the thigh of the priests’ portion that was waved, and which is offered from the ram of consecration, since it is for Aaron, and for his sons:

And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’ perpetually as the portion due them from the children of Israel: for it is the priests’ portion: to be offered by the children of Israel from their peace offerings, it is their offering to the LORD.

And the holy garments of Aaron shall pass to his sons who succeed him, to be anointed in them, and to be consecrated in them.

And that son who is high priest in his stead shall put them on each day for seven days, when he comes into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the holy place.

And you shall take the ram of the consecration, and boil its flesh in the holy place.

And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

And they shall eat those things by which atonement was made, to set them apart and consecrate them: but a stranger shall not eat of them, because they are holy.

And if any of the flesh or bread from the consecrations, remains until morning, then you shall burn what remains with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.

This is what you shall do to Aaron, and to his sons, according to all I have commanded you: take seven days to consecrate them.

And each day you shall offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement: and you shall cleanse the altar, by making a sin offering for it, and you shall anoint it, to consecrate it.

You shall make atonement for the altar for seven days, and sanctify it; and the altar shall be most holy: whatever touches the altar shall be holy.

¶ Now this is what you shall offer on the altar; two lambs of the first year every day continually.

You shall offer one lamb in the morning; and the other lamb in the evening:

With the first lamb offer a tenth measure of flour with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine as a drink offering.

And sacrifice the other lamb in the evening, with the same flour and drink offering as in the morning, as a sweet aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.

This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.

And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory.

And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will also sanctify both Aaron and his sons, to serve me as priests.

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.
