THE BOOK OF EXODUS

Exodus Chapter 26

¶ Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet material: and you shall make them with skillfully embroidered cherubim.

The length of one curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall measure the same.

Five curtains shall be joined together one to another; and the other five curtains shall be joined one to another.

And you shall make blue loops on the edge of the end curtain in the first set; and likewise do the same on the end curtain of the other sets.

You shall make fifty loops on the first curtain, and fifty loops on the edge of the last curtain in the next set; so that the loops on one are opposite the loops on the other.

And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and join the curtains together with the clasps: so as to make one tabernacle.

¶ And you shall make curtains of goats’ hair to be a covering over the tabernacle: you shall make eleven curtains.

The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall all be the same size.

And you shall join five curtains to one another, and the other six curtains to one another, and double the sixth curtain to hang in front of the tabernacle.

And make fifty loops on the edge of the outmost curtain in one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the outmost curtain in the second set.

And you shall make fifty clasps of brass, and put the clasps into the loops, and join the tent together, so that it may be one.

And the surplus that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

And the cubit on one side, and the cubit on the other side of that which remains in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

And you shall make a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering above that of badgers’ skins.

¶ And you shall make the upright frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood.

The length of one board shall be ten cubits, and the breadth of one board shall be one and a half cubits.

There shall be two tenons in each board, for fitting the boards together: so shall you do for all the boards of the tabernacle.

And you shall make twenty boards for the south side of the tabernacle.

And you shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under the next board for its two tenons.

And there shall be twenty boards for the north side of the tabernacle:

And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under the next board.

And for the west side of the tabernacle you shall make six boards.

And you shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the rear on both sides.

And they shall be coupled together at the bottom, and they shall be joined together at the top to a single ring: thus shall it be for both of them; they shall form the two corners.

There should be eight boards, with their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under the next board.

And you shall make bars of acacia wood; five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle,

Five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards on the rear of the tabernacle, for the back wall to the west.

And the middle bar halfway up the boards shall reach from end to end.

And you shall overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold to hold the bars: and you shall overlay the bars with gold.

And you shall erect the tabernacle according to the plan for it that was shown to you on the mountain.

¶ And you shall make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet material, and fine twined linen of cunning work: skillfully made with cherubim on it:

And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold: with gold hooks, on the four sockets of silver.

And you shall hang the veil from the clasps, so that you may bring the ark of the testimony behind the veil: and the curtain will divide the holy place from the most holy place.

And you shall put the mercy seat on the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

And you shall place the table outside the veil on the north side, and the lampstand opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.

And you shall make a hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet material, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

And you shall make five pillars of acacia wood to support the hanging, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and you shall cast five sockets of brass for them.
